Our sweet spot: Fixed-fee pricing + licensed legal advice + speed + lower stress

The real difference: Hourly lawyers bill for time spent—which incentivizes slow, expensive processes. We bill a fixed fee—which means we win when we solve your problem efficiently. No padding. No surprise bills. Just results.

Common costly mistakes we help you avoid

❌ Hourly legal billing with no ceiling

A simple agreement can cost $8K–15K+ with hourly billing. You never know when it will end. Our fixed fees are final.

❌ Trying mediation without legal protection

Mediators stay neutral and don't advise you. Without legal guidance, you may agree to unfavorable terms. We provide licensed legal counsel.

❌ Delaying formalization

Informal agreements create disputes later. A properly formalized written agreement protects everyone and gives certainty.

❌ Skipping independent legal advice

Both parties need independent advice. Without it, agreements can be challenged later. We ensure proper legal protection for all.

❌ Vague agreements

Unclear terms breed conflict. We use plain language and detailed clauses so everyone understands exactly what's agreed.

❌ Involving emotion in legal decisions

Separation is emotional. We provide clear, rational legal frameworks so feelings don't drive poor decisions.

Who we help—and who we don't

✓ We're a great fit for

  • Separations where both people are willing to reach reasonable terms
  • Families wanting fixed fees and transparent pricing
  • Lower-conflict, calmer processes and communication
  • Post-mediation formalization (terms already agreed)
  • Virtual service from anywhere in Saskatchewan
  • People who want licensed legal advice, not DIY

✗ We are not the fit for

  • High-conflict, contested disputes or litigation
  • Situations requiring courtroom representation
  • Matters where one party won't negotiate fairly
  • Complex business asset division needing extensive valuation
  • Power imbalance or domestic violence concerns
  • Matters outside Saskatchewan or our defined scope

A process you can see

  • Structured intake to understand your situation
  • Clear fixed-fee quote before any work begins
  • Licensed legal advice throughout the process
  • Negotiation on your behalf (when needed)
  • Careful drafting in plain, respectful language
  • Guided review so you understand every clause
  • Independent legal advice sign-off for the other party
  • Court filing and formalization

Independent legal advice: always recommended for both

Both parties are always encouraged to obtain independent legal advice before signing any agreement. We are happy to provide independent legal advice for one of the two parties. The other party can obtain their independent legal advice from another family law professional (we can provide referrals).

We do not provide: courtroom representation, litigation, or services for contested or high-conflict disputes. If your matter needs that, we will say so honestly and point you in the right direction.
