Peace Family Agreements is a limited licensee licensed by the Law Society of Saskatchewan to provide family-law services limited to separation agreements, uncontested and joint divorces, and parenting arrangements (Rule 1005(1)(g)). We are not a law firm and do not provide litigation or courtroom representation. Within our scope we give legal advice, negotiate, and draft and complete documents on your behalf.
No retainer. No trust account. No hourly billing. Published prices are starting points. Hailee reviews your circumstances and confirms the services and fixed professional fee in writing before the agreed work begins. Additional work is discussed and agreed separately. GST, PST and third-party costs are separate. Your engagement explains the payment arrangements.
Independent legal advice: Both parties are encouraged to obtain independent legal advice before signing. Peace advises one party; the other person should obtain advice from their own qualified adviser. For an interspousal property agreement under section 38 of The Family Property Act, each spouse must make the required acknowledgment before a lawyer who does not represent the other spouse and has not taken the other spouse's acknowledgment. Peace can advise and draft within its licensed scope; we coordinate the required separate lawyers for those acknowledgments.
Please note that solicitor-client privilege may not apply to communications with a limited licensee, and we explain this and our scope before you engage us. Browsing this site or sending the contact form does not create a professional relationship; that begins only with a written engagement. Licensed and insured through the Law Society of Saskatchewan (insurance coverage has limits).
