These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Peace Family Agreements ("we," "us," or "our") website and services. By using this website or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Who we are

Peace Family Agreements operates as a limited legal licensee licensed through the Law Society of Saskatchewan. We provide fixed-fee, virtual family agreement services within our licensed scope across Saskatchewan, including separation agreements, parenting plans, uncontested divorce finalization, independent legal advice for one party, and post-mediation formalization. We are not a law firm and do not provide litigation or courtroom representation.

Scope of our services

Our services include advice and negotiation of unresolved family agreement terms out of court within our licensed scope. We do not provide litigation or courtroom representation. If your situation requires litigation or falls outside our scope, we will let you know and, where appropriate, refer you to a lawyer or other resource who can assist.

No solicitor-client relationship

Browsing this website, contacting us, or sending the contact form does not create a solicitor-client or other professional relationship. A relationship begins only when you formally engage our services and we agree, in writing, to act for you. Please note that solicitor-client privilege may not apply to communications with a limited licensee; we explain this and our scope before you engage us.

Not legal advice

The information on this website is provided for general informational purposes only and is not legal advice. You should not act or rely on any information on this site without seeking advice specific to your situation. Independent legal advice is always encouraged before signing any agreement.

Independent legal advice

Both parties are always encouraged to obtain independent legal advice before signing any agreement. We are happy to provide independent legal advice for one party. The other party should obtain independent legal advice from another family law professional. Because we advise one party only, that advice stays clear and conflict-free. For an interspousal property agreement under section 38 of The Family Property Act, each spouse must make the required acknowledgment before a lawyer who does not represent the other spouse and has not taken the other spouse's acknowledgment. Peace can advise and draft within its licensed scope; we coordinate the required separate lawyers for those acknowledgments.

Fees

Our services are offered on a fixed-fee basis as quoted to you, confirmed in writing after your intake, with no retainer, no trust account, and no hourly billing. Payment arrangements and milestone billing are confirmed in your written engagement before work begins. The advice session fee is confirmed when you book and is payable at the time of booking. Clients who go on to a package receive a $179 credit on that package; no session money is held on account toward future work. Fees are exclusive of applicable taxes (GST & PST). Specific fees, modules, and any optional add-ons are confirmed with you before work begins.

Your signed engagement

Where you engage Peace Family Agreements for legal services, the written engagement governs those services. If these website Terms conflict with the signed engagement in relation to legal services, the signed engagement will govern.

Your responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate, complete information and to use the website and our services lawfully. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide to us, which we rely on to deliver our services.

Intellectual property

All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, and design, is owned by or licensed to Peace Family Agreements and is protected by applicable laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute it without our written permission.

Third-party links

This website may contain links to third-party websites we do not control. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those sites, and links do not imply endorsement.

No guarantee of outcomes

Every family situation is different. While we work diligently to help you reach fair, durable agreements, we do not and cannot guarantee any particular result or outcome.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Peace Family Agreements is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this website. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law or under the rules governing our professional licensing. We are licensed and insured through the Law Society of Saskatchewan (insurance coverage has limits).

Privacy

Your use of the website is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and handle your personal information.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Saskatchewan and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent version, and continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
