Pensions, property, and the family home
The bigger assets are often what worry people most. Here is how we handle them, and who advises whom.
Pensions and insurance
Hailee assesses whether pension, insurance and other asset terms can be addressed within her licensed scope. Complex assets may need separate lawyer or specialist advice and a custom written scope. We do not promise pension-plan administration or services outside the licence.
Selling or keeping the home
Selling the home, or one of you buying the other out? We can help with that piece. Because a refinance or buyout involves money moving through a lawyer’s trust account, that part of the closing is completed by a cooperating lawyer. It is an optional add-on, quoted for your specific situation, so you only pay for what you need.
Who advises whom
Hailee works as the legal advisor for one of you. She gives that person independent legal advice and prepares your agreement. The other party is encouraged to get their own independent review, and we will refer them to their own qualified adviser for independent advice. For an interspousal property agreement under section 38 of The Family Property Act, each spouse must make the required acknowledgment before a lawyer who does not represent the other spouse and has not taken the other spouse's acknowledgment. Peace can advise and draft within its licensed scope; we coordinate the required separate lawyers for those acknowledgments.

Agreed support filing & MEO coordination
Ask Hailee about coordinating the filing of agreed support terms and enrollment with Saskatchewan’s Maintenance Enforcement Office. Custom quoted after Hailee confirms her permitted scope, eligibility and any required lawyer involvement. Enforcement outcomes are not guaranteed.
