Saskatchewan Separation Agreement Guide

Prepare for agreement work on parenting, property and support, and understand which out-of-court path to discuss with Hailee.

Start with the issues, not a package

A separation agreement records terms reached about matters such as parenting arrangements, support, property and debt. Start by identifying what is already agreed, what needs advice and what remains open. Being separated does not mean every financial or parenting question has been resolved.

Bring any existing agreement, draft terms or mediation record. Tell Hailee which decisions you want help understanding. Website information cannot tell you whether a particular term is suitable or legally effective for you.

Choose the kind of help you need

For substantially agreed terms, Agreement Finalization starts at $3,497 for one area: parenting, property or support. Complete Separation Agreement starts at $4,797 for all applicable areas in the agreed scope. Neither offer includes active negotiation of unresolved terms or a neutral mediator.

If important terms remain open, Negotiated Separation starts at $5,997. Hailee assesses safety, fit and her permitted scope before agreeing to advise and negotiate for one person out of court. Neutral mediation is a separate role and fee; litigation or urgent court work needs a lawyer.

Prepare a useful disclosure file

Gather the information requested for your circumstances: income and tax records, account and debt statements, property documents and relevant parenting information. Do not assume that every document applies to every family. The Peace Charter is your plain-language file roadmap showing the information, documents and decisions still needed.

Hailee prepares your PeaceHub client file after engagement. Requests, originals and questions stay together. Uploading a statement is receipt, not automatic acceptance of the information or legal approval of an agreement.

Understand who advises whom

Hailee advises one client within her limited licence. The other person obtains separate advice where appropriate. For an interspousal property agreement under section 38 of The Family Property Act, each spouse must make the required acknowledgment before an appropriate separate lawyer. Hailee explains the lawyer involvement needed for your document.

Complex businesses, farms, pensions or multiple properties require an individual scope assessment and may need specialist or lawyer involvement. A fixed starting price does not promise that every asset or issue fits Peace’s services.

Agree on scope, costs and next steps

Published prices are starting points. Hailee confirms your services and fixed professional fee in writing before agreed work begins. Additional work is discussed and agreed separately. GST, PST, required lawyer fees, court fees and other third-party costs are separate.

Timing varies with disclosure, issues, responses, negotiation, other advisers and signing requirements. Your engagement confirms payment arrangements and included follow-up. Clients receive completed-document copies; retained files remain subject to Peace’s file-retention and professional obligations.
